Owen, Trevor Maclean
Passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 with his family by his side at 93 years of age at North York General Hospital of complications from lung disease. Married for 53 years to Maureen Senior Owen, father of Eric (deceased), Trevor Jr., and Meredith Maclean Stanford (nee Owen), father in law to John Stanford. Predeceased by sisters Sheila Owen, Audrey Miller, Olwen Walker and brother Ivon. With gratitude to his niece Daphne Beauroy for looking after the family in so many ways. Born July 24, 1917, Trevor was the eldest son of Professor Eric and Elsie Owen. He was educated at Upper Canada College in Toronto. During the Second World War, he joined the RCAF Transport Division and saw active service for 4 years. In 1952, he founded Trevor Owen Ltd., a textile firm and remained active in the business until 1985. Until his death, Trevor had the distinction of being the longest standing member of the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club having joined in 1926. Previously, Trevor served as a director of the Toronto Skating Club. His hobbies were sailing in both Florida and Georgian Bay, figure skating and photography. Trevor will be fondly remembered for his great love of animals. Many thanks to Branson Services for Seniors, North York General Hospital-CCU department for their expert compassionate care.
