Obituary of Gert Strømfeldt Christensen

Gert StrØmfeldt Christensen passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2018 with his family by his side in Newmarket, Ontario. Gert was born in Vejle, Denmark on April 10th, 1947 and moved to Toronto, Canada in May 1974. Gert was a loving husband to Margarita, loving father to Allan Strømfeldt and Bryan Strømfeldt, dear father-in-law to Leslie and cherished farfar to Henley Strømfeldt.

Gert was passionate both in his professional career in engineering as well as his outdoor hobbies, including fishing and camping. Gert enjoyed spending time with his extended family, showing his flair for cooking and sharing Danish traditions at the annual Christmas dinner. Gert’s ready-to-help personality, generosity and positive outlook on life will be missed. During his sickness, Gert’s positivity was a strength to his family.  

Gert’s ashes will be scattered in the west coast of Denmark where he was born; a lake in Southern Ontario where he enjoyed countless memories with his family; and Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia where he wanted to spend his retirement years.

A celebration of Gert’s life will be held on Sunday August 12th, 2018 from 3:00pm-7:00pm. If desired, donations may be made to Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket.
