Obituary of Ruth Cogan

Passed away peacefully at Cummer Lodge in Toronto, on Saturday, April 16, 2021 in her 88th year. Beloved mother of Mary, Judi, Stephen (Teresa), Christine (Ken), Dave (Lynne), and Paul. Proud grandmother of Kevin, Brendan, Laurie, Craig, Russell, Andrew, and Ian. Predeceased by her brothers Leo and Norman. Ruth was born on July 16th, 1928 in Los Angeles, California and was raised in Detroit, Michigan, before coming to Toronto to attend St. Joseph’s College, University of Toronto. After raising six children, Ruth worked at the Scott Library, York University until her retirement in 1993, and was active in her church, St Paschal Baylon. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church (92 Steeles Ave. W.) on Tuesday, April 19, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
